Curating Meaningful Conversations

Recognizing the longstanding and rich dialogue between critical concerns of the age, the arts, and religion, RCTA seeks to facilitate fresh cross-disciplinary and generative conversations among scholars, artists, and theologians about issues of human existence which matter to us all.

& Networks

The Frameworks for Loss and Permanence Initiative (FLPI) curates cross-disciplinary conversations which examine works of art through the lens of absence/presence, mortality, and other themes of loss and permanence, considering how personal and methodological frameworks shape our interpretations.

The Christian Poetics Initiative (CPI) brings together literary scholars, poets, and theologians to explore the possibility, parameters, and contribution of a Christian poetics for the 21st century.

Launched in 2020, the Scholars of Literature and Religion (SOLAR) Network facilitates connections and provides resources for students and faculty working at this intersection.

“RCTA creates a space for faculty not just to talk to one another but to think together about those things that are larger than our individual areas of expertise and deeper than our own individual experience, but have a direct bearing upon our lives together.”

— Dr. Kyle Dugdale, Yale School of Architecture
