DISAPPEARED BODIES: MOURNING IN ABSENTIA | MISSING BODIES, MISSING PERSONS: ARTWORKS ILLUMINATING AND INTERROGATING HUMAN EXISTENCE”

In this, the first of our faculty colloquia for 2024-25, "Missing Bodies, Missing Persons: Artworks Illuminating and Interrogating Human Existence,” we focus on “Disappeared Bodies,” examining literary and installation artworks that memorialize persons who were ‘disappeared’: abducted and killed, and their bodies deliberately hidden by their countries’ government or other military forces.

Works considered include Relicarios by Erika Diettes, and poems for the ‘disappeared’ by Martín Espada, Pablo Neruda, Margaret Randall, and Cecilia Vicuña.

By invitation only.
